Why Silo North exists
Most organizations do not have a neat knowledge base waiting to be connected. They have folders, inboxes, spreadsheets, exports, old databases and years of decisions embedded in inconsistent documents.
Silo North focuses on that integration work. We use mature open-source software for commodity capabilities and keep our own code concentrated on connectors, normalization, provenance, permissions, verification and operations.
A deliberately boring principle
If a well-maintained open-source project already solves a layer well, we would rather integrate it than own another copy. That keeps the installed system easier to maintain and gives customers clearer replacement paths over time.
The goal
A small organization should be able to run useful private company knowledge without becoming an AI infrastructure company itself.
